Eclipse the Hedgehog: Part 9 - Enemies Arise

The heroes fought off the waves of swatbots, but they seemed never ending. No matter how many they destroyed, twice as many seemed to replace them. "Damn! When will they just stop?!" Nightmare exclaimed as he split a robot. Eclipse swiftly passed his sword through two more bots. "I have no clue! But we better think of something quickly before this gets out of hand!" Eclipse replied. Nightmare quickly looked around, seeking out a weak spot in the attack. "This way, there are less over here!" Nightmare shouted. Both of them quickly made for the weak point in the attack and blasted through. "I don't have enough energy yet to use a chaos attack wide enough to destroy even half of them!" Eclipse yelled. The pair paced backwards as the robot army marched toward them. Suddenly, something exploded in the center of the battalion. The robots stopped in their track and began looking around for the source of the attack. Nightmare gazed at the army, confused. More explosions erupted within the ranks of metal, sending shards of embers and melting steel in all directions. "Hey, on that cliff!" Eclipse pointed. Up on an outcropping that hung right above the army were a pack of village militia. Armed with blasters and rockets, the militia crew fired down upon Eggman's troops. The seemingly endless armada of robots quickly turned into a few squads of cowering bots. Nightmare took advantage of this moment and quickly ran to take out the smaller, more divided groups. Eclipse followed his lead. The pair smashed through the remaining forces. "Good riddance..." Nightmare sighed as he wiped the oil of robots from his blade. 

The small militia group met them down in the valley, amongst the wreckage of the robot army. "That was some quick thinking there, you definitely saved our fur" Eclipse said. "We're always up for some robot pounding" said a voice from within the group. The villagers separated to reveal a young wolf. She was brown furred with spots of gray and green at the ends of her hair and muzzle. She sported a red top with jeans and a tool belt loaded with a variety of weapons and supplies. A bright purple spot was easily distinguished on her tail. "The name is Silv, tactician and weapons specialist, at your service" She gave a polite bow and signaled the militia group to stand down. The group lowered their weapons and began to converse passively. "A pleasure to meet you Silv" Nightmare replied and returned the bow. Eclipse walked over and looked at her. "You're the leader of this group? But you look so adorable an--" Silv turned him around and planted him on the ground while pulling his left arm back around his back. "Not so adorable huh? Haha!" Silv grinned as Eclipse squirmed. "Holy rbeauibpvfhsu!" He managed to slip out from the grip and stand up, rubbing his arm slowly. "Okay, well, I can see why you are the captain here! Owwww....". Eclipse felt something warm in his pocket and took out the gem. It was glowing a bright green. Silv looked at it curiously. "What is that? Why is it glowing?" She asked. "It means we were meant to meet you Silv." Nightmare replied. He took out the scroll the old blue fox had given him and saw a faint picture of the brown wolf appear along with the other friends they had met. "We will explain it all to you" Eclipse assured her. "Well in that case, follow me, I've got a camp just over that hill" Silv replied and led the group.

Eggman walked back and forth. "So, how exactly is it that I should trust you over my own creations such as metal sonic?" Eggman asked as he peered towards one corner of the room. A mysterious female hedgehog with robotic components walked out and slowly moved her hands around the multiple monitors in the room. "That is because Doctor, your robots have failed you, I must regretfully say..." She waved her hands around a screen. The monitor began to shift, crumble and reform into a small mouse like creature. She let it crawl up her arm and perch on her shoulder. "My skills and powers on the other hand....Will not...You are threatened by this developing rag-tag group of rebels...and you need me... " She held the robotic mouse in her hand and softly rubbed its head. "Without me, ooohhh poor Eggman will fall....Ehehehe!" Her eyes widened as she let out a screeching and insane laugh. She crushed the robot in her hand till it was mere pieces and threw them against a wall. "They will be prey...and I...The predator.." She slowly ran a hand down the wall and gazed outside. "It will be...easy..."
